Irish Hockey Internatrional Nicci Daly is one of Ireland’s best know female athletes. Having risen to glory as part of the Irish “Green Army” Team who took silver at the World Cup in 2018, Nicci was all set to compete in the 2020 Olympics, the dream of any athlete. With the subsequent cancellation of the event, Nicci finally became an Olympian in 2021, when she represented her country in Tokyo.

Nicci has many strings to her bow though and alongside her successful hockey career, she studied mechanical engineering and went on to complete a Masters in Motorsport Engineering. This led her to the United States, where she was recruited by the well known Juncos Racing as a data engineer. Nicci’s passion for motorsport stems from her father, who before his premature passing in 2002, was one of Ireland’s most successful National race drivers ever. Her uncle, Derek Daly, was also hugely successful, driving for the Williams F1 team in 1982, before moving to Indycar in the US.

In recent times, Nicci set up Formula Female, an organisation designed to encourage more women into Motorsport, in engineering and support roles, as well as driving. In association with Motorsport Ireland, they received funding from Sport Ireland to run their “Go Girls” initiative. This sees Nicci and her team bring entire classes from girls schools across the nation to their local karting centre for a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Workship.

Nicci signed with Leo Nulty Promotions in July 2020 and we immediately negotiated brand ambassadorship with MSL Grange Motors. This association will see Nicci holding STEM and Hockey workshops in MSL Grange’s state of the art premises. She also receives a Mercedes-Benz A200 AMG for the duration of the association.
